DOC to PPTX Conversion FAQ

How do I convert a DOC file to PPTX?
+
Upload your DOC file using the picker above and the converter detects the source type and runs the DOC → PPTX pipeline. The result downloads automatically when conversion completes; no account needed for one-off conversions. DOC is the binary Microsoft Word format used from Word 97 through Word 2003. PPTX is the Office Open XML presentation format PowerPoint has used by default since 2007.
No — this conversion pins the layout. A DOC adapts its line breaks to whatever width and font size the reader is using; the PPTX fixes page geometry at conversion time, so on a phone you get the whole page scaled down rather than text rewrapped to the screen. That is the right trade when the layout must not move, and the wrong one when the file is for reading on a small device. DOC is still the format a great many corporate templates, legal precedents and government forms are stored in.
It opens everywhere, but it is a compatibility choice rather than a good one. The binary formats predate the XML packages, carry macro payloads that many mail servers strip on sight, and are being steadily deprecated by Microsoft itself. Use them when a specific piece of old software demands them, and the XML format otherwise. PPTX animations, transitions and embedded fonts are the first things to break when it is opened outside PowerPoint.
They are not carried across, because build timing has no representation outside a presentation format. Each slide becomes a static page showing its final state, so anything that was revealed progressively appears all at once. Speaker notes are preserved separately wherever the target has a field for them.
Yes — basic DOC → PPTX conversion is free with no registration required. Premium adds higher per-file size limits, more parallel batch workers, longer retention, and removes ads.
Free accounts: up to 100 MB per DOC file. Premium: typically 1 GB per file depending on the source type. Very large files are split into chunks server-side when the PPTX format allows.
Conversion preserves all information that both DOC and PPTX can represent. Format-specific features the PPTX cannot represent (e.g. vector data in raster output, formulas in plain-text output) are rasterized or stripped — the result page lists what changed. A DOC is an OLE compound-file structure, with the document body, formatting and any embedded objects stored as binary streams. A PPTX is a ZIP of XML parts, one per slide, plus the media, layouts and theme it references.
Yes — drop multiple DOC files into the upload zone and they are queued in parallel. Premium runs more parallel workers; on a 50-file batch this is the difference between minutes and seconds.
Yes — the UI is responsive and the conversion pipeline runs server-side, so mobile devices upload-then-download just like desktops. iOS and Android browser file pickers (camera roll, Files app) work end-to-end.
Chrome, Firefox, Safari (15+), Edge, and Opera. The converter uses standard `<input type="file">` upload — no WebAssembly or PWA dependency — so even older browsers work to upload a DOC and download the PPTX.
Yes — uploaded DOC files are processed in isolated workers and deleted within minutes. We never view, retain, or share content. The retention window is at /privacy/.
Disable any pop-up blocker, then click the download button manually. The result link stays active for 24 hours, so if your network drops mid-download you can retry from the result page without re-uploading the DOC.
