How do I convert JPG to PSD without losing image quality?

Why is my converted PSD bigger or smaller than I expected?

A JPG with strong existing compression (lossy JPG) often grows when re-encoded to lossless PSD (PNG, TIFF). A lossless JPG often shrinks dramatically when going to JPG / WebP. The ratio depends on image content — photos compress differently from line art.

Can I use the converted PSD commercially?

Yes. The conversion is a format change — copyright on the image content stays with you (or whoever held it on the source JPG). We add no watermark, no metadata stamp, and claim no licence over the PSD output.
