How do I extract frames from a 3GP video as PNG images?

Upload the 3GP and the converter exposes a frame-extraction picker: every Nth frame, frames at specific timestamps, or one frame per second. Each chosen frame is encoded as an individual PNG file and the full set is bundled into a ZIP archive for download. 3GP is the container the 3GPP standardised for early mobile phones, when video had to fit a 176x144 screen and a 2G data plan. PNG was designed in 1996 as a patent-free replacement for GIF, and became the web’s default lossless image format.
Can I get the PNG frames without the subtitles?

Only if the 3GP never had them burned in, because 3GP has no selectable subtitle stream to switch off. Anything a 3GP shows on screen is in the picture itself, so it is in every PNG the extraction produces and no setting removes it afterwards. Where a separate subtitle file exists alongside the video, extract from a source that kept the two apart and the frames come out clean. 3GP is capped at low resolutions and mono speech-grade audio; upscaling it will not restore detail that was never captured.
Does the PNG output support transparency?

The format does, but the source has no alpha to give it — video frames and rendered pages are fully opaque by nature, so every pixel arrives solid. The alpha channel is still useful afterwards: it means you can cut a subject out of the PNG later without changing format again. PNG is the right choice for screenshots, logos, line art and anything with hard edges or transparency — no ringing, no colour banding.
How big will the PNG files be?

Larger than you might expect, because PNG keeps every pixel exactly rather than approximating. A 1080p still lands around 2-5 MB and a 4K still around 6-15 MB, so a long extraction run adds up quickly. That is the right trade when the images feed further processing, and the wrong one when they are going straight onto a web page. PNG uses DEFLATE compression over filtered scanlines, so every pixel survives exactly, plus a full 8-bit alpha channel.
At what resolution does each extracted PNG frame come out?

The same resolution as the 3GP video — a 1080p 3GP produces 1920×1080 PNG frames; a 4K 3GP produces 3840×2160 PNG frames. Use the resize utility after extraction if you want smaller thumbnails or social-media-sized crops.
Can I extract every single frame from 3GP as PNG?

Yes, but be careful with file count — a 30fps 1-minute 3GP produces 1,800 PNG frames. We pack them into a ZIP automatically. For longer clips, the "1 per second" option (60 frames) or specific timestamps gives a manageable result.
Will the extracted PNG images preserve the 3GP color grading?
