How do I extract frames from a WebM video as Image images?

Upload the WebM and the converter exposes a frame-extraction picker: every Nth frame, frames at specific timestamps, or one frame per second. Each chosen frame is encoded as an individual Image file and the full set is bundled into a ZIP archive for download. WebM is a strict subset of Matroska that Google published in 2010 specifically to give HTML5 video a royalty-free container. Image here is a generic target: the converter picks a sensible raster format for the source rather than forcing one on you.
Not if they are a real subtitle track. A WebM keeps subtitles as their own stream and the player draws them over the picture at playback time, so the decoded frame the converter writes out as an Image has clean pixels underneath. Subtitles that were burned into the video before it ever became a WebM are a different matter — by then they are part of the image and every extracted frame keeps them.
The format does, but the source has no alpha to give it — video frames and rendered pages are fully opaque by nature, so every pixel arrives solid. The alpha channel is still useful afterwards: it means you can cut a subject out of the Image later without changing format again. Choosing the target automatically means you get a file that opens anywhere without having to reason about codecs first.
Larger than you might expect, because Image keeps every pixel exactly rather than approximating. A 1080p still lands around 2-5 MB and a 4K still around 6-15 MB, so a long extraction run adds up quickly. That is the right trade when the images feed further processing, and the wrong one when they are going straight onto a web page. Photographic sources default to JPG, sources with transparency or hard edges default to PNG, and multi-page sources produce one image per page.
The same resolution as the WebM video — a 1080p WebM produces 1920×1080 Image frames; a 4K WebM produces 3840×2160 Image frames. Use the resize utility after extraction if you want smaller thumbnails or social-media-sized crops.

The WebM container does not store per-frame EXIF the way a still camera does, so the Image files come out with empty EXIF. We embed a `creation_time` field pointing at the source frame timestamp so you can re-sort the bundle by capture order.
