Will the MP4 open directly in a browser?

That is usually the deciding factor when the file is going onto a web page rather than into an application. MP4 is the safest possible delivery target — every phone, browser, console, editor and Smart TV built in the last decade plays it without extra software.
Why does my WMA file refuse to convert?

DRM, in almost every case. A protected WMA is encrypted and tied to an account, and no converter can decrypt it — ours included. Files you created yourself, or bought from a DRM-free store, convert without any trouble at all. WMA is unsupported almost everywhere outside Windows, and older WMA files may carry DRM that blocks conversion entirely.

Disable any pop-up blocker, then click the download button manually. The result link stays active for 24 hours, so if your network drops mid-download you can retry from the result page without re-uploading the WMA.
How long does WMA to MP4 conversion take?
